William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship

2010 Award: $5,000

This scholarship oppportunity closes January 29, 2010.

Applicant Eligibility Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the Scholarship:

1.     The Scholarship is awarded to a student who will be entering his/her senior year at college/university         OR will be entering a graduate program or continuing a graduate program with an instrumental         music major during the 2010-2011 school year. This means:

        At the end of the 2009-2010 school year, you must have completed sufficient credits to be         considered a:

          a.     junior who will be entering his/her senior year in college/university in 2010-11;

          b.     senior who will be entering graduate school in 2010-11; or

          c.     graduate student continuing a graduate program in 2010-11.

2.     You must be a music or music education major in instrumental music.

3.     You must be a graduate of a high school located in Harford County, Maryland, or an equivalent         approved home school located in Harford County, Maryland.

4.     If requested, you must give a live audition at a site in Harford County, Maryland, in spring 2010 at a         date and time to be determined.

5.     If awarded the Scholarship, you must attend rehearsal(s) prior to and perform a solo at the         Summer Series Concert held at the William A. Humbert Amphitheater in the Town of Bel Air,         Maryland, in June at which time the scholarship award will be formally presented.

6.     Previous applicants who have not received the Scholarship may reapply.

 Ineligibility

1.     Students receiving full tuition scholarships are not eligible to apply.

2.     Previous recipients of the Scholarship are not eligible to apply.

The William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship is a tuition only award, which will be paid directly to the college or university of the recipient.
